DO:
- Contact the police or highway patrol immediately for assistance. Some states require that even minor property damage claims be reported.
- Take pictured at the accident scene, including all vehicles, property damage, roadway and debris.
DON'T:
Don't forget to protect the accident scene. Activate your four-way flashers and place emergency warning triangles around vehicle as soon as possible. Federal and state motor carrier safety regulations require that emergency warning devices be placed around your vehicle within 10 minutes if stopped upon traveled portion or shoulder of a roadway ( 49 CFR, Part 392.22).
Don't become irritated. It's best to remain courteous, regardless of who is at fault or how others are behaving at the scene..
